"Lenta" is the largest hypermarket chain and the fourth largest retail chains in the country. The company was founded in 1993 in St. Petersburg. Lenta manages 233 hypermarkets in 84 cities across Russia and more than 125 supermarkets in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Siberia, Urals and Central regions with a total sales area of 1 403 145 sq. m. Average sales area of one of the hypermarket "Lenta" is about 5 600 sq m, the average area of the supermarket is 900 sq. m. the Company operates seven distribution centers.

The company develops multiple formats of hypermarkets with low prices, which are marketing and pricing policy, as well as a range of goods from local producers. As at 30 June 2017 the Company employed 40 400.
